the sunflower girl

This is the story of the sunflower girl. I have often found that the inspiration of the work I make can come from the most random places. Often times I'll see just a flash of something in an advertisement, or an album cover, or even just a collection of polaroid photos, and just like that, I have a new idea and the all too familiar nagging itch to bring it to fruition. The idea for this story came from a foreign movie poster I caught a glimpse of in a used video store. I don't even know what the flick was called but it gave birth to a concept that developed into this unsettling tale. So grab a coffee, sit back, read it, and weep.

daruma screen print

wow! art market was crazy. I discovered that I have a profound love for selling people kitchy stuff, and hell, I even sold some of my prints! doope! anyway this is a photo emulsion screen print I did a couple summers ago. It may be old, but it still has charm. Continuing with the theme of anything and everything japanese, here's my daruma.
